So my name is Tricia Winter Johnson and I’m the fourth daughter of Ralph and Roberta Winter. A lot of people will say to me, so you’re Dr. Winter’s daughter. And I rush just say, “No, I’m Dr. Ralph and Roberta Winter’s daughter”, because my Mom and Dad did everything as a team. They were a dynamic duo.
And my Dad’s research, along with my Mom, turned up the fact that half the world would still be unreached if every Christian reached their neighbor for Christ. It was shocking. This was in 1974. It was was shocking because, at that time, people thought that that’s all that was needed was just every Christian reaching their neighbor. But he pointed out the fact that there were obstacles to the Gospel cultures and languages that cut people off.
…if there was a big fire raging would you go with your little bucket and try to put out the fire? Or would you wake up a hundred sleeping fireman…?

And one of my favorite illustrations and that he would use was the hundred sleeping fireman. And the story goes that if there was a big fire raging would you go with your little bucket and try to put out the fire? Or would you wake up a hundred sleeping fireman and get them mobilized and have the work accomplished. I think that’s a great picture of missions mobilization. What mission mobilization can do to wake up the church and help it realize the task ahead of us get a lot more accomplished as a result.
